In December of 2010, after a month-long tour of the UK and Europe, Heathrow Airport shut down for four days due to a little bit of snow. It was the day before Christmas Eve and I still hadn't gotten on a flight back to Canada after spending the entire week on the floor of the airport.

By the time I finally got on a plane to Calgary--the closest destination I could get to my parents' house in Edmonton--I'd written an album's worth of songs, and I recorded them over the holidays before flying back to Toronto broke as hell.
